Welcome to El Faro
"You are the world's light a city on a hill glowing in the night for all to see." Matthew 5:14 PDF Print E-mail

El Faro (The Lighthouse)

El Faro is nestled in the midst of friendly neighbors in an ideal location. Just miles away from the Pacific Ocean near the city of Rosarito, Baja California. You will get a taste of the culture and have a bird’s eye view of the lives of the Mexican people. Rod & Cheryl Hoople (YUGO missionaries) will serve as your hosts in seeing how YUGO Ministries has become a bridge to the underprivileged.

How can we do all that needs to be done? We can’t! Volunteers from all walks of life join our staff in ministry. Quilts are lovingly made for the orphans. Blankets and personal supplies are gathered for the prisoners. Christmas shoe boxes are filled, then sent to be handed out to the Mexican children. Homes are built for the poor. Churches and Sunday school rooms are built for pastors. Vehicles, clothing and household items are donated to those in need

.

“Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good stewards of God’s various gifts of grace.” I Peter 4:10

You don’t have to be a bystander to the events that are impacting Mexico. You can be a leader in enabling children and families to overcome adversities. You will be transformed as you extend your hand to those living in poverty. Sharing the gospel starts with meeting everyday basic needs.

Let us be your guides in seeing your part in the Great Commission. Whether you come on a Vision Trip or have been called to missions and desire our help transitioning to your new life serving in Mexico, we will be sure that your time in Mexico is life changing and will glorify Christ with your acts of service.

Vision Trips PDF Print E-mail

Vision Trips provide an opportunity for a real life experience with people from a third world culture. Many who go on Vision Trips return and are never the same again. Our goal is to give you an opportunity to let God capture your heart and see your part in reaching out to the Mexican people through practical deeds and a message of hope. After your visit God may call you to get involved in one of three ways...

1) pray for the work our missionaries are involved in 2) give financially so the work can continue 3) get involved through short or full time missions.

What you can experience by taking part in a five day Vision Trip:

Cultural Day - Begin your visit with a trip to downtown Tijuana.  Experience the history of Mexico at the local wax museum steeped in history of the Mexican people. Eat authentic Mexican tacos and take part in a scavenger hunt that will give you the experience of being in a third world country experiencing first hand the culture of the Mexican people in the local markets.

Ensenada Outreach Center - YUGO’s Ensenada Outreach Center focuses on building relationships and homes for those less fortunate.  Meet the staff and see how God is using them to feed the hungry through Breakfast Feeding Programs as well as being the hands and feet of Christ to those around them.

Tijuana Outreach Center - The Tijuana Outreach Center focuses on bringing in teams for Evangelistic Outreaches and is the home of YUGO’s Grace Bible Institute. During the same day we will take you to the village of Lomas San Antonio to see or take part in the Breakfast Feeding Program set up so children will not go to school hungry.

Grace Children’s Home (YUGO’s Orphanage) - A visit to Grace Children’s Home will reveal the hearts of the staff that are committed to training up Christian leaders with the homeless children that are placed in their care. You too can plan to spend time with the children or staff volunteering to meet their needs.

Mexican Orphanages - YUGO missionaries work with other orphanages that are in need of love and care for the children. Come join them for a day at an orphanage that will leave you forever changed.  Ask us about how you can be part of enriching their lives with your visit.

Colonias (villages in East Tijuana) - God has given one of the YUGO missionaries a heart for the church leaders in the east colonias of Tijuana. He has developed deep relationships with each one. Many church leaders welcome you to join them in ministry in their needy communities. Ask us how you can get involved.

Some times during the year there are different ministry activities that we take part in that you too may want to be part of.  Each Christmas, churches and individuals take part in Project Joy handing out Christmas shoe boxes to the children of Mexico. Help is needed in filling back packs for the Tijuana School Sponsorship Program or bags containing personal items for Prison Ministry.  Let us know if these are areas that you may want more information on we can let you know the dates when you will be needed most to help.
